ID TECH's TriMag (IDT140) custom digital decoding IC is designed for
use with magnetic stripe reading applications. It is capable of decoding
up to three tracks of ISO7811 compatible (F2F) magnetically encoded
data at velocities from five inches per second (ips) to 55 ips. Additionally,
it can accurately decode bit cells with amplitude variations down
to 30% and jitter of up to 30% (subinterval) as defined in the ISO7811-2
standards. |

TECH’s MagChip™ Application-Specific Integrated Chip (ASIC)
is for reading and decoding a single track on a magnetic stripe. Because
MagChip is an Integrated Circuit (IC) designed specifically to perform
reading and decoding functions, it is smaller, consumes less power,
and costs less than a general purpose processor chip while delivering
superior performance. MagChip decodes the analog output from a magnetic
“read” head and produces a digital data-bit stream with
clock and “media detect” outputs. |
