The
Series 98 has two input ports to accommodate up to two scanning or
reading devices in a variety of combinations. The Series 88 has two
universal ports and a serial input port, so the same unit can support
two laser or CCD scanners, as well as a magnetic stripe reader. |

and formats data |
| Either
decoder can be programmed to divide, rearrange, and edit fields of
scanned data, as well as add preambles and postambles. Both units
are compatible with a wide range of host computers. The Series 88
is a great value for RS-232 terminal interface applications, while
the Series 98, which comes with its own attached cable, is excellent
for keyboard wedge applications. |

easily using bar code menus |
| Both
decoders come with menus that allow you to configure either unit by
simply scanning the appropriate bar codes. Selectable parameters,
such as scan verification, language select, and baud rate, can be
set instantly, as can magnetic stripe options, such as the specific
tracks to be read. |
